Secret Lighting is a cutting edge design practice, born from 30 years in Architecture, lighting and interior design.

If you are building a new space this is probably the first time anyone asked you this … if it’s a refurbishment we establish if what is existing will remain! These amongst may important areas establish the boundaries of space, how they fit together, will we make a space higher, more intimate, make style and begin the process of blending light into the very fabric of your space.

We want to inspire our clients to help achieve a project that exceeds their expectations. We add value at every stage as we provide ideas, drawings, mock ups, detailed schedules and on site support.
We specialise in transformations (new or renovations), commercial spaces that need to measure success … be that a restaurant to be remembered, retail who want to increase dwell times, offices people are motivated by or a hotel that guest can’t wait to return to.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Discovery Sessions
Each project begins with a “Discovery Session”. This is in Shropshire, face to face in our studio. We take the time to get to know each other and the project better. We believe that understanding the client’s needs is the basis of success for any project. During this session, all specific needs, dreams, wishes and requirements are discussed.
The aim is to explore the opportunities and possibilities of the home or business premises and together give direction to the design. This is worked out live in the meeting developing concepts, sketches and using materials and displays in the studio. This shows you Secret Lighting’s style and possibilities we can develop if you wish to partner with us.
We will lay out the full scope of your project needs and designs and incorporate the Discovery Session into the costs of future work.
The Discovery Session and concept ideation is £1200.
Discovery DIY “self build”
Discovery DIY is a customised session of explorations, ideas and concepts for a normal Discovery Session but for the self builds who just want great ideas, solve difficult ceilings, want know how to achieve the beautiful effects, curved spaces and automatic etc for themselves.
Spending quality time with a professional designer who has 30 years experience and completed hundreds of projects is invaluable.
This means we tailor the day to your needs, ensure we go deep into “how to” installation tips, which products to use, where to buy them etc.
The Discovery DIY is £1200.
Secret Lighting’s aim is to offer a superior experience for ourselves and clients whilst we design together.
A Design Studio, offering different areas where experimentation, sensory experience and technology act as starting points for inspiration.
Open plans areas of display, work benches where we bend, twist and solder and test new ideas, create new combinations of decorative wall and ceiling elements, test new lighting effects with colour, controls and technical innovations as well as a curated selection of our favourite lighting fixtures, both made by us ad designers from across Italy and Spain.
Shop with us … you don’t have to design with us .. you can buy our lighting, design element or curved building systems …. we welcome Trade and will make competitive quotations.

Firstly, we will listen and understand your definition of success for this project and then set about designing for the arrival of people and the atmosphere you want them to feel and respond to.
We use neurosciences to help predict atmosphere, add technology to make a space dynamic and change. But to remove the “leap of faith” any concept design brings… our offices feature a “dry dock” inside 180 sqm where we can build full scale mock ups of trial stores, restaurants, even exteriors, perfect for feedback of test groups, staff training & construction teams learn in advance for quicker fit outs and less snagging.
Being lighting designers but also UK manufacture in the West Midlands your unique brand can have its own lights or even refurbish existing lights or upcycle items to be new lights, then maintain for 20 years.
